Dress Code and Etiquette
Dancers must follow our dress code and classroom rules.  Dancers will have a chance to purchase or order dance clothes and shoes at our Open House in July.

Required Clothing:  Leotard, Tights, Pink leather Ballet shoes (canvas for older dancers), Black tap shoes, black jazz shoes (jazz students), pointe shoes (pointe students).

Optional Clothing: Tutus, skirts, jazz shorts, jazz pants.

*Show up for class already dressed.  Bring all dance shoes in a dance bag to each class.

All dancers are required to wear a leotard and tights.  Any style or color is fine.  Most students wear black or pink. Only students wearing proper dance attire will be allowed to participate.

Leotard and Tights:

Ballet Shoes:
Ballet shoes are leather or canvas - NOT house slippers.

Tap Shoes:
Jazz taps are preferred for students in grades seven and up.
Student taps for younger dancers; tap oxfords for older dancers.

Jazz Shoes:
Black slip-on jazz boots or lace-up jazz shoes are fine.

Pointe Shoes:
Pointe shoes must be professionally fitted! You are responsible for sewing on the elastic and ribbons before classes begin!

Tutus and Skirts:
Students have free reign on tutus and skirts.

Jazz Pants and Shorts:
Jazz pants and shorts may be worn over leotards for jazz and tap class.


Etiquette:
Be on time for class.
Wear proper attire.
Cell phones on vibrate or off!
Bring all shoes in a dance bag to class.

 Hair must be pulled up for each class.
Students must be respectful to instructors.
No bullying or teasing of any kind is tolerated.
No gum, food, or drinks allowed in the dancing area.
